Jimmy’s Serves Up Bipartisan Fare

I want to commend you on a fine article about Trumps (“The Last Tea Time,” Sept. 13). I, too, am saddened to see such a culinary legacy depart from Los Angeles’ restaurant scene. Michael Roberts’ creative genius and incessant energy will certainly be missed.
One curious point that was raised was that Trumps catered to the Democrats in Los Angeles while Jimmy’s serves as the Republicans’ restaurant of choice. Let me take the opportunity to point out our bipartisan business practice of welcoming both the Democrats and Republicans alike. In fact, among our regular customers we can count such notable Democrats as Dick Gephart, Mickey Kantor, John Tunney, Jerry Brown, Chuck Manati and Pat Brown.
