Orion Details Sony Payoff: Orion Pictures has offered to pay Sony Pictures Entertainment $70 million by 1995 to fulfill the terms of a foreign distribution agreement. The money will pay for movies that Orion has failed to deliver to Sony. Orion, which filed for bankruptcy protection last December, provided 11 of 50 films owed to Sony. Orion may also pay up to $9 million to Sony in reconciliation payments for unrecovered expenses related to the distribution of the films, according to an SEC filing.
