LOVE BONE ALUMS: Pearl Jam, whose “Ten” album has passed the 2 million sales mark, is part of the hottest concert ticket in town--even hotter than the three “Lollapalooza” dates next weekend at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.
We’re talking about the premiere party for the movie “Singles,” taking place Sept. 15 at the Park Plaza Hotel near MacArthur Park. Pearl Jam and fellow Seattle-ites Alice in Chains are scheduled to perform at the party, an invitation-only affair. From there, Pearl Jam will play a Seattle homecoming show, followed by three shows in Hawaii and finally a little time off before heading back to the studio. Plans are for the band to begin recording its second album early next year.
As for the other two former members of Mother Love Bone, Curtis reports that drummer Bruce Fairweather is playing with Love Battery, a Seattle band whose debut album was released earlier this year by the Sub Pop label, while guitarist Greg Gilmore is playing with up-and-coming singer Kristen Barry.
