Canseco’s Home Was Hit Hard by Andrew
MIAMI — Jose Canseco is getting it from all directions. Stunned by the news Monday that he had been traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Texas Rangers, Canseco last week took a solid blow from the Hurricane Andrew at his $2.5-million mansion in the exclusive Cocoplum area along Biscayne Bay.
“All the carpets, upstairs and down, had to be tossed because of water damage,†Claire Tacher, a lawyer for Canseco, said Tuesday. “The roofer looked up top and said, ‘Your chimney’s missing.’ And I think every French door in the place blew out.â€
Canseco’s recently remodeled patio was chipped and stained, and the pool had to be washed with acid.
