CHARITY DRIVE: Ray Havert of Saddleback Community Outreach found out that it pays to return telephone calls. Loree and Martin Cody of San Juan Capistrano were trying to donate their 1973 Mercedes-Benz to charity, and Havert was the only one to call them back. Havert says his group will sell the car for food, shelter and gas money for the unemployed. . . . “We’ve got people who can’t go looking for work because they don’t have the gas to get them there,” he says.
