Your (Aug. 16) editorial “Mayor’s Race Lacking Substance” makes a good point; however, the major media should accept some of the responsibility if there is a lack of “substance.”

Why does the drivel continue to make Page 1 news? What is preventing political writers from asking the questions of substance that were mentioned?
