Police on Thursday released one of two men booked for the murder of a Pasadena couple, but held the other suspect for a parole violation.
Christopher Scott, 26, of Fontana, and Cedric Singleton, 27, of Riverside were arrested Tuesday during the investigation in the murder of Jeffrey Venable, 25, and Robyn Braxton, 20, said Pasadena Police Lt. Wayne Hiltz.
“At this point in the investigation, we are not prepared to seek the filing of charges through the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office,” Hiltz said. Scott was released, but Singleton was held without bail on a parole violation, Hiltz said. The men, who knew the couple, were suspected of suffocating Venable and shooting his girlfriend.
