‘Secret Garden’ Produces a Budding Theater Critic--Hillary Clinton

A New York Times ad for the play “My Secret Garden” contains an eye-catching blurb from a recent theatergoer: “ ‘Simply Magical!’--Hillary Clinton.” A spokesman for the show, Adrian Bryan-Brown, said Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea (along with Tipper Gore and her three daughters) caught a matinee during the Democratic convention in New York. Clinton gave her “review” during a backstage chat with the cast. Bryan-Brown said that when Clinton was asked if her praise could be cited, she replied, “I’d love to see my name in lights.” A touring version of the show opens tonight at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
