‘Place’ in the Suds

“Melrose Place” (Fox) could easily get away with the title “Melrose Space.” The program is a fluffy, city soap.

I think the show’s value is just that: soap. It’s an hour of relief from the real drama of life.

The impression that we “twentysomethings” all run home from shopping at Beverly Center just in time to tune in is clearly wrong.
