Museum of Instruments Gets Brass Collection

The Kenneth G. Fiske Museum of Musical Instruments at the Claremont Colleges has been given an 84-piece collection of brass instruments by Leon J. Whitsell of San Francisco.
The collection, dating from the early 19th Century, includes rare cornets, trumpets, fluegelhorns, saxhorns and a helicon, ophicleide, serpent and tuba.
Admission to the museum, in Bridges Auditorium, 4th Street east of College Avenue, is free but by appointment only at (714) 621-8307.
