Country’s Best: Vince Gill and Travis Tritt tied with five nominations each as finalists were announced Thursday for the 26th annual “Country Music Assn. Awards” coming up Sept. 30 on CBS. Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire got four nominations each. Receiving three nominations apiece were Garth Brooks, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Brooks & Dunn and Wynonna Judd. The entertainer of the year contenders are Brooks, Gill, Jackson, McEntire and Tritt. The awards will be presented at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
