TOLUCA LAKE : 1,200 Attend Funeral of Toto Drummer Porcaro
More than 1,200 people attended the funeral Monday of drummer Jeff Porcaro, who was a founding member of the Grammy-winning rock band Toto, Forest Lawn Memorial-Park officials said.
Among the mourners were Jackson Browne, Eddie Van Halen, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt and Porcaro’s Toto band colleagues.
Porcaro, who was also a highly respected session drummer, died of an apparent heart attack last week after falling ill at his Hidden Hills home. An autopsy was conducted Friday, but the results will not be available for several weeks, a Los Angeles County coroner’s spokeswoman said Monday.
Porcaro, who began his professional career while a student at Grant High School in Van Nuys, was spraying his yard with an insecticide shortly before he died. He was 38.
