SIMI VALLEY : Planners Approve 114 Townhouses

The Simi Valley Planning Commission has approved plans to build 114 townhouses on a seven-acre parcel at the southwest corner of Los Angeles Avenue and Rory Lane.
The commission approved the development proposal at its meeting Wednesday night. The commission’s recommendation will now go to the City Council, which must grant final approval.
The complex, proposed by Firwood Development of Moorpark, would include 21 two-story buildings and two open recreational areas. The two- and three-bedroom townhouses will each have two-car garages and enclosed patios, the developer said.
Because Simi Valley limits the number of building permits issued annually, Firwood will probably have to wait until 1996 to begin constructing the $14-million project, said Cynthia Subijano, Firwood’s managing director.
