School District Thanks the Beach Community
- Share via
This is an open letter to the community from the South Bay Union High School District.
In a time of uncertainty as to our future status, and in a time of ever-reduced state funding, the community of the three beach cities has once again given its approval of our school system and its support for our fine students and faculty, our successful programs, and our excellent staff and administration.
Parents, other individuals, booster clubs, and parent groups, businesses and corporations all combined to make the past year one of the most successful. We counted at the end of this school year more than 230 different donors who made donations to our schools. In addition to cash, donations were often volunteer time or in-kind gifts.
The programs supported and the donors cannot possibly all be mentioned here because of the lengthy list. However, we particularly recall the many who contributed to Grad Nites, to athletic programs, to our academic decathlon teams, to scholarships and to our renovation programs.
The board of trustees and the administrative teams are sincerely grateful for all these expressions of confidence. The Los Angeles Times was, as always, helpful and positive. To all of the beach community, we send a hearty thank you.
