MIAMI — A Key Largo, Fla., club that lost three trained dolphins called in a professional dolphin trapper, who returned one of the strays to its pen.
The dolphins, Bacall, Lady and Molly, have been living in a lagoon along Key Biscayne’s golf course since escaping from the Ocean Reef Club, 30 miles south of Miami.
Trapper Gene Hamilton on Friday night lowered a net and caught Bacall. Molly and Lady leaped over Hamilton’s net and swam off into Biscayne Bay.
The dolphins escaped from the club July 18 after a lemon shark tore a hole in the net of their pen.
