SAN DIEGO : Solicitation Sting Nets 27 Men
Twenty-seven men were arrested on charges of soliciting for prostitution late Friday and early Saturday in a sting operation staged by San Diego police.
The men, who ranged in professions from cab driver to a cook, welder, bellboy, mechanic and student to computer technician, were arrested between the hours of 9:30 p.m. Friday to 3:30 a.m. Saturday after they solicited female officers posing as prostitutes.
The arrests came along El Cajon Boulevard near Mississippi Street, an area where both residents and business owners have recently complained of increased prostitution activity.
San Diego police said the sting operation would continue.
