Logo Is Part of Marketing Plan
A new logo for West Covina--the centerpiece of an aggressive marketing campaign by the city, the Chamber of Commerce and the Redevelopment Agency--was unveiled last week.
The center of the triangular logo holds a stylistic representation of hills, freeways and the sun, meant to illustrate the campaign’s theme: “West Covina--The Heart of the San Gabriel Valley.†Other slogans that will be used in the 30-month campaign are “West Covina Is Red Hot for Retailers†and “West Covina: The Spirit of Business.â€
Also planned are West Covina signs along the San Bernardino Freeway (10), brochures and a newsletter. About $200,000 has been budgeted for the campaign through next June.
The logo was unveiled at a reception at The Lakes office complex honoring the city’s 1992 Partners Award recipients, GTE SmartPark and Watt Investment Properties.
