All That Jazz
Don Heckman’s article “The Jazz Singers†(July 19) simply restated a longstanding truth: When good recorded music (jazz, standards, classics) is known to be available by radio airplay and supportive marketing, it becomes a major force in the marketplace.
In our current era of sociopolitical non-music sustained by “lyrics†nurtured in hate, bigotry and intolerance, real music succeeds even without the support of the recording industry or broadcasters.
