STILL GRATEFUL AT 50: Jerry Garcia beams when he talks about his first guitar at age 15. “It was a double-plywood-body, pawn-shop job. But man, I thought it was so great,” he says. It set him on an amazing course. . . . . Garcia, lead guitarist for the Grateful Dead, still at superstardom after 27 years, turns 50 today and celebrates tonight at Irvine Meadows--playing with a side group of his own, the Jerry Garcia Band.
