The Dancing Camera

Re “Ballet Stumbles--and Bumbles--at the Bowl” (July 27), Martin Bernheimer’s comments about the camera work are so right: “restless,” “ridiculously fussy,” “amputating,” “wrong angle,” “irrelevant detail.”
I have long been frustrated trying to watch any body movement in today’s TV, exercise videos or movies. I usually give up in disgust at the inappropriate and inadequate camera work.
After all, when Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers danced in the movies, there was not one close-up!
