Venice : Dental Clinic Gets Grant
The Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield UCLA Venice Dental Clinic will be able to serve more patients because of a $185,000 grant to the UCLA School of Dentistry from the Weingart Foundation.
“The Weingart Foundation has been most generous in making this three-year grant,†said Dean Henry M. Cherrick. “The Venice Dental Center will now be able to handle 11,000 annual visits by children and families.†The clinic now serves about half that many patients.
The center provides general and pediatric dentistry, oral surgery and orthodontics services for low-income and indigent patients. Dental, postdoctoral and graduate students, and residents in various dental specialties perform the services under faculty supervision as a part of their training.
