A Van Nuys teen-ager was seriously injured when he fell 30 feet into a ravine while hiking with friends in Browns Creek Park north of Chatsworth, authorities said Wednesday.
Robert Jones, 18, was plucked from the ravine by rescue workers about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday and taken by helicopter to Holy Cross Medical Center. He was in stable condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit, spokeswoman Jane Cessar said.
Jones said he fell off a log that was laid across the ravine. His friends summoned help.
