More on ‘Cop Killer’: Lee County, Fla., Sheriff John J. McDougall formally requested Tuesday that Florida Atty. Gen. Bob Butterworth investigate whether Time Warner’s distribution of rapper Ice-T’s controversial “Cop Killer” violates Florida sedition, anti-anarchy and incite-to-riot statutes. McDougall was the first sheriff in the nation to seek an injunction under Florida obscenity statutes in 1990 to prohibit the sale of Miami rap group 2 Live Crew’s sexually explicit “As Nasty as They Wanna Be” album in Lee County.
