Botanical Zoo Tours

The Los Angeles Zoo now offers tours of its extensive grounds, though only to groups. To make reservations for a group call (213) 666-5133 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Many of the plants, some quite unusual, are now labeled so you can take your own tour, but on the guided tours docents will explain the relationships between zoo animals and the plants. It is also a good way to see mature specimens of many familiar landscape plants, including any you might be considering planting.
