EDUCATION: The Los Angeles City Council is expected to vote Tuesday on a redistricting plan for the Los Angeles Unified School District which critics say will weaken the San Fernando Valley’s representation on the seven-member school board.
COMMUNITY POLICING: The Latin American Civic Assn. and other community organizations in the area will hold a rally Wednesday to encourage residents of the northeast San Fernando Valley to join in a community-based policing program. The program will be held at 7 p.m. at Osceola Street School, 14940 Osceola Street, Sylmar.
