Chaminade Pair Place Well in Foil

Jeff Feinblatt and Wes Waldron of Chaminade High finished third and fourth in a field of 55 in the under-19 division of the foil competition in the United States national championships last week in Dolton, Ill. Feinblatt defeated Waldron for the bronze medal.
Waldron also placed 15th in a field of 123 in the Division II foil, 26th in a field of 153 in Division II epee and and ninth in a field of 53 in the under-19 epee. Feinblatt finished 29th in Division II foil. Chaminade’s Dean Jacobberger placed 28th in the under-19 foil.
John Wordin of West Hills broke away from a tight pack to win the 30-mile Young Life Criterium, held recently in Goleta.
The following day, Wordin, 29, placed seventh in the Clean Air Circuit Race in Diamond Bar. Thurlow Rogers of Van Nuys placed second.
