SAN FRANCISCO — A California company says it’s serious about selling windmills to the Dutch.
U.S. Windpower Inc., a subsidiary of San Francisco-based Kenetech Corp., said it has signed a deal to provide about 80 high-tech windmills worth $25 million to $30 million to a utility in the Netherlands.
The windmills will have a combined capacity of 25 megawatts, enough to power 20,000 average households, said Glenn Ikemoto, U.S. Windpower’s vice president of development.
Installation is expected to be completed by the end of 1994.
