Planet Hollywood in London: A Planet Hollywood restaurant will open later this year in London, the city where rival Hard Rock Cafe got its start, setting up another potential battle between the rival themed restaurants. In the United States, restaurateur Peter Morton and Hard Rock Cafe investors in Chicago and Orange County have filed three lawsuits against Planet Hollywood, which is partly backed by actors Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. Morton and his associates allege that Planet Hollywood ripped off the rock ‘n’ roll concept of Hard Rock and converted it to a movie theme. Despite the suits, a Planet Hollywood is being built at the site of the former Reuben’s restaurant on Sunflower Avenue in Santa Ana, across the street from South Coast Plaza shopping center in Costa Mesa.
