The cast of Santa Ana’s Way Off Broadway Playhouse has been added to Sunday’s Father Day bill at the Brea Improv.
The troupe will perform a sketch called “Father of the Year” from its most recent “Off the Wall Comedy Nite,” which concluded its two-weekend run earlier this month.
The comedy nights, with sketch comedy, music and dance numbers, are offered between regular stage productions at the troupe’s Santa Ana theater. Way Off Broadway leader Tony Reverditto said he has been working to move the group’s comedy work to other venues and said he hopes Sunday’s engagement will lead to a long-term relationship with the Improv.
“I think this puts a stamp of validity on the group,” he said.
Sunday’s headliner is Bill Engvall. Second-billed comic is Fran Solomita. Tickets for the 8:30 p.m. show are $8. The club is at 945 E. Birch St., Suite A. Information: (714) 529-7878.
