DeJuan Matthews, a 6-foot-3 swingman at Mater Dei, has transferred to Tustin and will begin working out with the basketball team next Wednesday, Tiller Coach Andy Ground said.
Matthews was a starting guard at Mater Dei at the beginning of the 1991-92 season but was injured during the Above the Rim tournament in San Diego and never regained his starting position.
“He’ll be the best athlete on the team,” Ground said.
Matthews is expected to play guard and forward for the two-time defending Sea View League champions.
