Tribbles for Trekkies: Bullock’s is so confident that the popularity of the original “Star Trek” TV show is intact that it is willing to boldly go where no department store chain has gone before. It has opened a Star Trek Shop on the second floor of its stores at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa and in Sherman Oaks.
The idea was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the old NBC series that introduced America to Kirk, Scotty and pointy-eared Vulcans. But if sales jump to warp speed on $140 limited-edition jackets, $30 neckties and $150 autographed uniform tops, that’s OK too.
And don’t forget furry Tribbles, from the “Trouble with Tribbles” episode. They come two for $30.
