THE SHADOW KNOWS: Tonight is a great time to head to the back yard to watch the moon, says Kent Shattuck of the Orange County Astronomers Club. The Earth’s shadow will cover 69% of the moon for a partial lunar eclipse. . . . “It makes the moon an eerie color, kind of orange, definitely worth seeing,” he says. “A lot of times you read about lunar eclipses and they’re just about 20%; you really can’t tell much difference. But this will be a good one.” . . . It starts at 8:27 p.m.; peak time is at 10.
