How to express the sense of freedom I felt when I learned that Hacienda Heights would maintain its unique characteristics by not becoming a city?
Hacienda Heights is truly an oasis not bound by added rules, regulations, etc. like those imposed by neighboring cities--cities that are digging into their reserves to stay afloat.
We, the people, were not fooled by the political rhetoric that bombarded us at our doorsteps and visually polluted the environment.
