Battison joined Westwood One in 1985 as executive vice president and was named president in 1986. He was the company’s chief financial officer from 1986 through 1991.

Westwood One is the nation’s largest producer and distributor of news, talk, sports and entertainment radio programming and the parent company of the Mutual Broadcasting System and the NBC Radio Networks.
