EL RIO : Transient Arrested on Army Warrant
- Share via
A 32-year-old transient was arrested Friday on charges of being a deserter from the U. S. Army and on charges of rape and obstruction of justice, authorities said.
Timothy G. Knight was arrested in El Rio about 6:30 p.m. after Knight’s ex-wife and his former brother-in-law flagged down a deputy and revealed his identity, said Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Markley.
The Army had issued an arrest warrant for Knight on all three of the charges, Markley said. He did not know when the warrant was issued or what the circumstances were, Markley said.
Knight was in a parked car and was using false identification when authorities approached him, Markley said.
Knight was booked at the Ventura County Jail on Friday evening.
