LA MESA : No Bail Reduction for Accused Killer
- Share via
Attorneys representing Alex Love II, the former boyfriend of Tameka Henderson who was arrested in the teen-ager’s slaying, failed in their attempt Friday morning to have his bail reduced.
Arguing that the $2-million bail is tantamount to disallowing bail, defense attorneys said Love has no criminal history and has strong ties to the community.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Jim Waters said the high bail is necessary to ensure Love’s appearances at court hearings.
Love’s co-defendant, Aaron Sylvester Hill, appeared in Superior Court to answer allegations that he failed to show up for his sentencing in April on charges of receiving stolen property. Judge Frederic L. Link continued the hearing until July 16.
Both men have a preliminary hearing set for July 2.
