Serra Picks Crawley as Football Coach
Kevin Crawley, who coached Serra High’s junior varsity football team to a 17-0 record over the past two seasons, has been named varsity football coach at the school.
Crawley replaces Jon Dimalante, who coached Serra to an 8-3 record and a berth to the Southern Section Division VII playoffs last season. The Cavaliers reached the second round of the playoffs.
Dimalante is on sabbatical to further his postgraduate studies.
Crawley coached at St. Paul and Servite before coming to Serra in 1989. He served as an assistant for two seasons to Leo Hand. During those seasons, the Cavaliers were 24-1 and won a Division VII title in 1989.
Hand resigned after the 1990 season.
