Chrysler to Sell Methanol Cars in California: Chrysler Corp. said it will begin accepting retail and fleet orders this summer in California for flexible-fuel cars that can run on either methanol or gasoline. Chrysler, the No. 3 U.S. auto maker, said it will begin taking orders this summer for at least 2,000 flexible-fuel Dodge Spirit and Plymouth Acclaim sedans. The cars, available for the same price as gasoline-fueled ones, can run on pure gasoline, a mixture of 85% methanol and 15% gasoline called M85, or any combination of the fuels, Chrysler officials said in Sacramento.
