Stoumen Holdings to San Diego: The estate of two-time Academy Award documentary winner Lou Stoumen (“The True Story of the Civil War,” 1956; “Black Fox,” 1963) has been donated to the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego. Valued at approximately $650,000, the holdings include film and photographic archives of Stoumen’s work, his library and rights to royalties for sales of his photographs and writings. The gift also includes $50,000 for an exhibition and catalogue of Stoumen’s photographs, and a $250,000 endowment for a semi-annual Lou Stoumen documentary photography prize.
