An 18-month-old Lancaster girl was killed when she was struck by a pickup truck that her mother was driving, authorities said Sunday.
Brenda Nickerson, 34, thought that her daughter, Jasmine Johnson, was in the house, but the child had wandered outside when the accident occurred about 7 p.m. Saturday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ed Raulston said.
Jasmine was struck by the left front tire. She was rushed by ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster but died as a result of massive head trauma, Raulston said.
