Drexel Law Firm to Collect $35 Million: The law firm that represented Drexel Burnham Lambert Group Inc. through its two years of bankruptcy will get more than $35 million for its efforts. Bankruptcy Judge Francis Conrad approved the final fee applications by New York-based Weil, Gotshal & Manges, as well as bills submitted by other major law and accounting firms in the case. For the final phase of Drexel’s bankruptcy, from Dec. 1, 1991, to April 30, 1992, Weil, Gotshal will receive $8 million in fees and expenses. Adding that to amounts billed since Drexel’s bankruptcy filing in February, 1990, brings the total to more than $35 million.
