Your May 17 article concerning President George Bush’s speech before an audience of Southern Methodist University graduates, in which he cited America’s “preoccupation with the nation’s troubles” and “scorned those who warn that America is in decline,” has not only intensified my doubts as to the leadership ability of the President, but has confirmed, in my mind, that our leader has surely been blinded by his “thousand points of light.”
