‘Minute for Peace’ at Noon Sunday
Los Angeles radio stations and churches are banding together to hold “A Minute for Peace” Sunday at noon.
After last week’s verdicts in the Rodney G. King beating case and the violence that ensued, Kindred Spirits, a Westside women’s spiritual group, is sponsoring the event with the goal of uniting a million participants in a minute of prayer for peace in the city. Churches are being asked to ring their bells at noon in support of the effort.
“All anybody needs to do from 12 noon to 12:01 is to talk to God . . . and pray for peace and healing,” said spokeswoman Linda Ford.
Radio stations KACE, KJLH, KLVE and Radio Korea are participating.
