Monrovia : Police Computer System
The City Council voted unanimously last week to draw up plans for a police computer system that will cost from $250,000 to $300,000.
Police Chief Joseph Santoro told the council Tuesday that the department’s current information system, built around an index-card file, hampers police work.
The council agreed to spend $13,104 to hire a computer consultant who will develop specifications for the computer system and evaluate bids from computer firms.
A campaign to build a fully computerized police station failed in last month’s election.
