Man Fatally Injured as 2 Boats Collide

A 46-year-old Gardena man died after his motorboat collided with another boat on Pyramid Lake.
Ronald Geesey was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. Saturday at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Harvey Cantor said.
Geesey was driving the boat about 4:10 p.m. when he and the operator of the other boat apparently realized that they were on a collision course but were unable to turn away in time, Cantor said.
Geesey suffered massive head injuries and was taken by helicopter to the hospital, Cantor said. No one else was injured, he said.
