ANTELOPE VALLEY : Young Republicans Endorse Knight
Former Palmdale Mayor William J. (Pete) Knight has received the endorsement of the Los Angeles County Young Republicans in his bid for the 36th Assembly District seat.
The district, which has no incumbent because it was pieced together from other districts through reapportionment, stretches from the Santa Clarita Valley to the Antelope Valley.
At a Young Republicans convention at UCLA on Monday, Knight was lauded for helping guide the commercial and housing growth in Palmdale during his years as mayor.
His term ended this month. Knight is running in a field of 10 candidates, eight of whom are Republicans.
The front-runner in campaign contributions is Hunt Braly, aide to retiring state Sen. Ed Davis.
