SANTA CLARITA : Overpass Work to Close Freeway Lanes
All lanes of the northbound Golden State Freeway at Lyons Avenue in Santa Clarita will be subject to overnight closures Sunday through April 30.
Construction crews, who will be working on the Lyons Avenue overpass, will close portions of the freeway between midnight and 5 a.m., said Russell Snyder, spokesman with the state Department of Transportation. If all lanes are closed, motorists will be diverted to the Lyons off-ramp and can return to the freeway immediately via the on-ramp.
Closures will also affect southbound lanes the same hours from May 3 to 7.
The $7.1-million reconstruction project on the bridge began in August and should be finished by early 1993. Improvements include widening the overpass from three lanes to seven.
