Grant for Child Abuse Program
The McKesson Foundation of Pasadena has given a $10,000 grant to the Pasadena YWCA to re-establish its Child Abuse Prevention Program, which was the victim of state budget cuts.
The foundation is affiliated with McKesson Water Products, which distributes Sparkletts bottled water.
The donation to the YWCA will be used to train teachers, counselors and child-care providers to better identify signs of child abuse.
The foundation also donated $5,000 to the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena for educational programs for children from poor families. The programs will include field trips and art exploration workshops.
