Hycor Reports Large Jump in Net Income

Garden Grove-based Hycor Biomedical Inc., a manufacturer of medical and diagnostic products, reported that net income for the first quarter jumped to $797,000, equal to 9 cents per share, from $260,000, or 4 cents per share, for the same period last year. Sales more than doubled, to $6.9 million from $2.8 million. The increase was attributed to the continued growth of its core business and to the addition of Ventrex Laboratories Inc., acquired in August, 1991.
