PRIZE UNWON: “Sight Unseen,” Donald Margulies’ play about modern art that had its world premiere at South Coast Repertory Theatre in September, was mentioned as a finalist--but not the winner--for the 1992 Pulitzer Prize in drama. (A1) “This is the closest we’ve come,” says SCR literary manager Jerry Patch, a Margulies fan. . . . Says Margulies, whose play is an off-Broadway hit, from his Connecticut home: “I’d heard I was on the short list. I’m thrilled.”
